Chief Executive Officer, Chris Connors (include photo)
Chris was appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer of Sunshine Sugar in 2008.
He has held senior positions in the sugar industry and the mining industry throughout his career including Chief Executive officer of Proserpine Sugar and North Queensland Resources.
An active industry participant, Chris has held numerous board and committee positions, including foundation Director of the Australian Sugar Alliance, Deputy Chairman of the Australian Milling Council, Director on the board of SMART Superannuation Fund, Board member of Sugar Research Institute, Board member on the Cooperative Federation of Australia and President of the Queensland Co-operative Federation.
General Manager, Ian McBean (include photo)
Ian has held the position of General Manager, Corporate Services since 2008.
Ian’s role is to develop alternative investment projects, the continuous improvement program and cane supply initiatives.
Prior to joining Sunshine Sugar, Ian was acting CEO and Company Secretary of Proserpine Co-operative Sugar Milling Association and has over 20 years’ experience in the agriculture and sugar cane sectors.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Crop Production) Social Science and Grassland Science.
Corporate Finance Manager, Paul Welch (include photo)
Paul has held the positions of Finance Manager and Company Secretary since 2002. Prior to the he was the Mill Accountant at the Harwood Mill for some 20 years.
As Finance Manager, Paul oversees the financial reporting of the business and manages the administration support teams. His Company Secretary duties include coordinating board member activities.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Financial Administration, CPA and a Graduate Diploma, Charter Secretaries.
Having worked in both the growing and milling sectors, Paul has over 30 years’ experience in the NSW sugar industry.
Condong Mill Operations Manager, Greg Petersen (include photo)
Greg was appointed to the position of Operations Manager at Condong Sugar Mill in 2002 and is tasked with ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all activities on site and leading staff to meet production requirements and objectives. Prior to this he held the role of Production Manager and also Factory Manager.
Greg holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and Applied Chemistry, a Certificate II Engineering (Steam Plant Operation) and a Diploma of Management.
Broadwater Mill Operations Manager, David Wood (include photo)
David has been Operations Manager at Broadwater Sugar Mill since 2012 and is tasked with ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all activities on the Broadwater Mill and associated sites. Prior to this he held the role of Senior Accountant and Relief Human Resources Manager.
David has various qualifications in Management and holds Bachelor of Business Degree in Accounting. Prior to joining the Sugar industry David worked in Forestry Operations for Forests NSW.
Harwood Mill and Refinery Operations Manager, Stephen King (include photo)
Stephen manages the day to day operations of the Harwood milling site.
He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science

Human Resources Manager, Glenn Parker 
Glenn has held the position of Humana Resources Manager since July 2011 and is tasked with the streamlining of the structures and frameworks that drive our people and business performance.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, a Fitting and Machining Trade Certificate and Workplace Training and Assessment.
Glenn has been with NSW Sugar for over 5 years and comes with 17 years’ experience in human resources and 31 years’ experience in manufacturing.
Communications Manager, Vivien Miller (include photo)
Vivien has held the position of Communications Manager at Sunshine Sugar since 2016, having previously worked in corporate marketing and communications roles in the IT&T, Mining & Metals, Entertainment and Tourism industries.
Vivien is responsible for managing Sunshine Sugar’s brand and reputation through internal and external company communication. She has over 15 years’ experience in her field.
Vivien holds a number of tertiary qualifications including a Master of Business -Marketing; Graduate Diploma - Tourism Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts Degree-English.
Commodity Manager, Glenn Scarffe (include photo)
Glenn has held the position of Commodity Manager at Sunshine Sugar since 2012, having previously worked for Tully Sugar.
Glenn is responsible for refined sugar pricing, raw sugar risk management and managing raw sugar export. He has over 10 years’ experience in the sugar industry in price risk management.
Glenn holds a number of tertiary qualifications including a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary), Graduate Diploma in Agricultural Economics and a Diploma of Financial Markets.
Agricultural Services Manager, Rick Beattie (include photo)
Rick has held the position of Agricultural Services Manager with Sunshine Sugar since 1999.Rick is responsible for the management of a team of agricultural staff that provide extension, technical, pest and disease control services for the NSW sugar industry.
Prior to joining Sunshine Sugar, Rick worked as extension officer for the Bureau of Sugar Experiment Stations (BSES) in the Innisfail and Ingham districts and prior to that as a cane inspector with CSR at Macknade Mill.
With over 35 years’ experience in the Australian sugar industry, Rick has managed a wide range of projects including work on farming systems, water quality improvement, whole crop harvesting and variety development.
He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Rural Technology.
Daniel Rojo – Technical Services Manager (include photo)
Daniel Rojo has held the position of Technical Services Manager at Sunshine Sugar since November 2013.
Prior to this he worked in project and planning engineering positions within Sunshine Sugar. Prior to joining the Sugar industry, his prior work history includes extensive experience in steam generation and materials handling.
Based at the Broadwater Mill, Daniel works across the business managing research and development, identifying new business opportunities, energy efficiency projects / reporting, Government funding, compliance and legislative requirements, maintenance and capital budget planning and provides specialist technical support.
Daniel has tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering and Management and is studying for a Bachelor of Business majoring in Economics and Agribusiness.
Daniel has been with NSW Sugar for 11 years.
